Students will be working on a project of their choice in class. The kids are required to work on their project in class. They may take it home to work on it, but must bring it back to school the next day to work on in class.
Option 1: Designer's Challenge - Students will use area, perimeter, and measurements to help redesign their room. Mrs. Crews has magazines to use for shopping purposes. If you would like to bring in your own magazines for shopping, you are more than welcome. Students have a $2,500 budget to redesign their own bedroom. Measurements at home are required.
Option 2 - Create a Math Game - Students pick a math topic that they have learned this year. Then, they have to create directions, cards, boards, game pieces, and a box. If students want to borrow materials from games that they already own, that is fine. However, they cannot just pick a math game they own and use that. It needs to be creative.
Option 3: Paper Slides - Paper Slides are slides and a video that the students create. The students create slides to show how to do a math topic. The students narrate their slides, describing how to complete/solve their math topic. The slides must be colorful and legible. The narration must be clear and practiced.
All projects are due May 20th, 2014. I will conduct project checks throughout the month to mark student progress.
