5th Grade -
- draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories; solve one and two-step "how many more" and "how many less" problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs (e.g. draw a bar graph in which each square int he bar graph might represent 5 pets)
- generate measurement data by measuring lengths to the nearest quarter inch, half inch, and millimeter in addition to the previously learned inch, foot, yard, centimeter, and meter
- create a line plot showing measurement data where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units - whole numbers, halves, or quarters
4th Grade -
- examine and compare angles in order to classify and identify two-dimensional figures by their angles to include right triangles
- classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size
- identify and draw lines of symmetry for two-dimensional figures
5th Grade -
- convert among different-sized measurement units within a given measurement system and use these conversions win solving multi-step, real world problems (eg. convert 5cm to 0.05m, 3ft to 36in, 120min to 2hr)
- make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8) and solve problems using the line plot data
